Title:
THRUST BEARING FOR HYDRAULIC CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/031248
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention is a thrust bearing that is built into a hydraulic continuously variable transmission, and is provided with an inner ring in contact with a piston of a piston chamber of a variable-capacity pump, an outer ring secured to an inclined plate, and a plurality of rolling elements held between the inner ring and the outer ring by a retainer. The thrust bearing is characterized in that the groove base thickness (Ti) of the inner ring is at least 40% of the ball diameter, the groove base thickness (Te) of the outer ring is at least 15% of the ball diameter, and the ratio (Ti/Te) is greater than 1 and no more than 3. Thus, breakage of the inner ring is prevented and a thrust bearing for a hydraulic continuously variable transmission having a long-life is provided.
