Abstract:
This thrust bearing (3, 3A, 3B) is arranged facing a thrust collar (4) provided to a rotating shaft (1), and is provided with a top foil (10), a back foil (2), and a base plate (30). The back foil has a plurality of back foil pieces (21). The top foil has a plurality of top foil pieces (11, 50, 60). Formed on the top foil pieces, on the upstream side in the rotation direction of the rotating shaft, are securing parts (13) secured to the base plate, and thin parts (14, 16) of which surfaces facing the back foil pieces are removed, the thin parts extending from outer peripheral ends of the top foil pieces to inner peripheral ends or side ends.
