Abstract:

This foil bearing (thrust foil bearing (40)) is provided with: a foil holder (41); and foils (42) arranged side by side circumferentially. Each of the foils (42) has: a body section (42a) having a thrust bearing surface (S2); and an extension section (42b) extended from the body section (42a) to the outer diameter side. One circumferential end (42d) of the body section (42a) of each of the foils (42) is disposed overlapping the body section (42a) of an adjacent foil (42). The extension sections (42b) of the foils (42) are affixed to the same flat surface of the foil holder (41).
