Abstract:
Disclosed is a thruster with a duct attached, wherein the cross-section shape of a wing-shaped cross-section duct (5), which is provided upon the periphery of a propeller (4), is provided with a bulge portion (6) on the exterior periphery of the leading edge portion of the duct, said bulge portion (6) bulging outwardly from a standard wing shape in a circular arc shape, such that pressure changes on the external surface of the leading edge portion are alleviated when a vessel travels at high speed. The duct (5) has an angle (α) that opens in the leading edge direction such that a prescribed tow force is generated when operating at low speeds, thereby facilitating improved efficiency, allowing ensuring stable tow force when operating at low speeds and preventing ablative eddies from forming upon the exterior surface of the duct when operating at high speeds.
