Abstract:
A thyristor starting device (100) for accelerating a synchronous machine (20) from a stopped state to a prescribed rotation speed by sequentially executing a first mode for performing inverter (2) commutation by intermittently switching the DC output current (Id) to zero, and a second mode for performing inverter (2) commutation using the induced voltage of the synchronous machine (20). A second control unit (13) controls the ignition phase of a thyristor of a converter in a manner such that the DC output current of the converter (1) matches a current command value, on the basis of the detection signal from the phase detector (7). The current command value in the first mode is set in a manner such that the current value increases as the rotation speed of the synchronous machine (20) increases.
