A dual purpose tile spacer and packing shim comprises a body having a plurality of arms of equal width, each arm extending radially from a common intersection, each arm having a bottom edge and a top surface, wherein the respective bottom edges all reside in a common plane, and the respective top surfaces do not all reside in a common plane.
