Title:
TIME-OF-FLIGHT MASS SPECTROMETRY DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/229915
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
In the present invention, an acceleration voltage generation unit generates a high-voltage pulse for causing ions to be emitted from an ion emission unit by switching a direct-current high voltage by turning power MOSFETs on and off on the basis of drive signals. Each drive signal includes a secondary drive signal for recharging the gate capacitances for maintaining the power MOSFET in the on state, in addition to turning on the power MOSFET. Selection circuits (671, 672) of a drive signal generation unit (6) selectively output primary drive signals, which are obtained by adjusting the signal widths of edge detection signals generated from an activation signal by edge detection circuits (691, 692), during a period in which drive signals for determining the timing to start emitting the ions are output, and, during the other period, selectively output secondary drive signals, which are generated by secondary drive signal generation circuits (6B) comprising many circuit elements including semiconductor elements. As a result of this configuration, jitter of the primary drive signals for determining the ion emission start timing and a signal fluctuation due to a change in temperature can be reduced, and a time lag between the ion emission start timing and the time-of-flight measurement start timing can be suppressed, thereby improving mass accuracy and mass resolution.
