Abstract:
A time measurement circuit (10) measures a time difference between the edge of a first signal (S1) and that of a second signal (S2). A sampling circuit (12) inputs a logical level of the first signal (S1) at the edge timing of the second signal (S2). When the sampling circuit (12) enters a metastable state, an output signal (S3) makes a transition in a long-time scale. A transition time measurement circuit (14) measures a transition time (settling time) of the output signal (S3) in the metastable state of the sampling circuit (12).
