Abstract:
Provided are a time and time zone synchronization method and a terminal device. The method comprises: when a terminal is registered to a network or is roamed to the network, the terminal determines a support state of the network for Network Identity and Time Zone (NITZ) feature (101); if the terminal determines that the network supports NITZ feature, then, when the terminal is not configured to synchronize automatically, the terminal prompts a user using the terminal to use a time and time zone automatic synchronization feature; and, if the terminal determines that the terminal does not support NITZ feature, then the terminal prompts the user using the terminal to manually configure the time and time zone (102). Utilization of the present invention allows, when a terminal is registered or roamed to a network, implementation of a user using the terminal being timely prompted either to use a time and time zone automatic synchronization feature or to manually configure the time and time zone, thus effectively ensuring the correctness of the time and time zone of the terminal.
