Abstract:
This nose component comprises a base member of which at least a portion is joined directly to a seat, and a very hard material body having a cutting edge. The nose component has a joining surface and an open surface. The section of the base member joined directly to the seat is provided to the joining surface, and the very hard material body and the base member are visible in the open surface. The section of the base member joined directly to the seat and the base member visible in the open surface are formed contiguously. In this cutting tool tip, at least a portion of the joining surface is joined directly to the seat in a state in which the nose component has been fitted into a recess. In this manufacturing method for the tip, the seat is provided, a nose component is fitted into each of a plurality of locations of the recess, and an electric current flows while a plurality of the nose components are pressed simultaneously into the seat.
