Abstract:
A tip shaping machine (M) presses electrode tips (5) against a forming roller (52) held by a rotationally driven holder (28), and the electrode tips (5) are pressed in such a manner that tips (6) thereof approach each other. By this, the tips (6) are shaped so as to be able to be reused. Also, in the tip shaping machine (M), burr removal sections (56) are disposed at positions which face burrs (8) when the electrode tips (5) are separated from the tip shaping machine (M), and the burrs (8) are burrs produced projecting from the outer peripheries of base sections (7) near the tips (6) of the electrode tips (5) when the electrode tips (5) are shaped. The burr removal sections (56) are located at positions close to the outer peripheral surfaces (7a) of the electrode tips (5) on the base section (7) side thereof when the electrode tips (5) are shaped, and the burr removal sections (56) are mounted in such a manner that, when the electrode tips (5) are separated from the tip shaping machine (M), the burr removal sections (56) make contact with the burrs (8) to cut or bend the burrs (8), reducing the height of projection of the burrs (8).
