Abstract:
Even if vehicles in which this tire air pressure monitoring system is installed are near each other, this tire air pressure monitoring system makes it possible to enhance wireless communication such that each system can accurately obtain information about the tire pressures and temperatures of the vehicle thereof. This tire air pressure monitoring system comprises: transponders that are respectively attached to a plurality of tires of a vehicle and respectively include air pressure sensors for measuring the air pressures of the tires; and a vehicle-mounted device attached to the vehicle. The transponders wirelessly transmit answer signals including information about the air pressures of the tires to the vehicle-mounted device at a prescribed transmission interval. Upon determining that answer signals transmitted from the transponders of the vehicle and from transponders of another vehicle are interfering with each other, the vehicle-mounted device transmits to the transponders a control signal for making the transponders transmit subsequent answer signals at a set interval shorter than the prescribed transmission interval.
