The present invention relates to a lubricant for mounting or dismounting a tire bead, comprising alkaline electrolyzed water and a lubricating component. The lubricating component contains a surfactant and a lubricating base oil made up of a mineral oil and/or a synthetic oil. The present invention relates to a method of producing a lubricant for mounting or dismounting a tire bead, comprising mixing alkaline electrolyzed water with a lubricating component. The present invention also relates to a method of assembling a tire and a wheel wherein the lubricant is coated on the surface of the wheel that will contact the tire bead and the tire is installed on the lubricant-coated wheel. The present invention further relates to a method for disassembling an assembled tire and wheel wherein the lubricant is filled into the contact surface between the wheel and tire bead and the tire is then separated from the wheel. Provided is a lubricant for mounting or dismounting a tire bead, which enables installation of a tire on a wheel at a bead seating pressure of not more than 300 kPa, which gives little residual component, and which also enables facile removal of a tire from a wheel. Also provided are a method of assembling and a method of disassembling a tire and wheel, which use this lubricant for mounting or dismounting a tire bead.
