Abstract:

A lightweight tire chain made of textile exhibiting excellent storage performance, which is a tire chain excellent in durability, brake performance and hill-climbing performance. In the tire chain (10) made of textile and applied removably to a tire, at least the portion covering the tire tread (knitted portion (11a) on the tread) is formed of a knitted matter. The air gap area (S) at the knot of the knitted matter(knitted portion (11a) on the tread) under a state applied to the tire, and the width (W) of the strand of the knitted matter satisfy the following relation; 2≤S1/2/W≤15. Thickness at the node of the knitted matter (knitted portion (11a) on the tread) is equal to or less than three times the thickness at the mesh leg portion of the knitted matter.
