Abstract:
Provided is a tire forming drum comprising a segment expanding and contracting mechanism, wherein the tire forming drum does not necessitate expensive parts requiring high precision machining, and has a simple structure and improved durability. The tire forming drum comprises: a shaft (2) which is provided so as to axially extend in a drum main spindle (1) and which rotates together with the drum main spindle (1); a segment expanding and contracting mechanism (3) which is provided at one end side of the shaft (2) and expands and contracts the diameter of a segment in conjunction with axial reciprocating motion of the shaft (2); a piston cylinder mechanism (7); a co-rotation separation mechanism (6) which joins the other end of the shaft (2) to a piston rod (71) of the piston cylinder mechanism (7); and a drum rotation means (5) which rotates the drum main spindle (1). The co-rotation separation mechanism (6) transmits reciprocating motion of the piston rod (71) to the shaft (2), and prevents co-rotation of the piston rod (71) caused by rotation of the drum main spindle (1).
