Abstract:
Provided are: a tire reinforcement member that achieves both rigidity and fatigue durability of reinforcement cords; and a tire using the reinforcement member. A tire reinforcement member 100 uses a rubber–cord composite body formed by arranging in parallel one or a plurality of reinforcement cords 101 and covering same with rubber. Each of the reinforcement cords comprises a carbon fiber cord with a double-twisted structure comprising a final-twist cord in which a plurality of primary-twist cords formed by twisting together a plurality of carbon fiber filaments, are further twisted together, the final-twist coefficient Z1 = a × √(0.125 × c / C) / 1000 is 0.01–1.0, the primary-twist coefficient Z2 = b × √(0.125 × d / C) / 1000 is 0.01–1.0, and the inter-cord distance Y between the reinforcement cords in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the cord is in the range 0.1–5 mm.
