Abstract:
This invention improves the precision and reliability with which rolling resistance can be measured. This rolling-resistance testing method includes a rolling-resistance measurement stage (S2) and a determination stage (S3). In the rolling-resistance measurement stage (S2), a component force meter (6) is used to measure the tangential axial force (Fx) that occurs in a tire axle (3) when the tire (T) is rotated under load. In the determination stage (S3), the axial force (FxA) is measured in an no-load stopped state in which the tire (T) has been separated from a drum (2), said axial force (FxA) is compared to a threshold (KA), and if the axial force (FxA) is greater than said threshold (KA), a determination that an anomaly has occurred in the test is made.
