Abstract:
In this tire transport apparatus (1) three arms (23) have hooks (25) that protrude outward at lower-end sections thereof. An arm extension/retraction device (77) moves the arms (23) in a horizontal extension/retraction direction. A Z-axis drive device (75) raises and lowers the arms (23). First to third laser distance sensors (31A to 31C) are disposed on the outer side of a first circle (C1) including the distal ends of the hooks (25) in a state in which the arms (23) are above a tire (T) and are retracted, the laser distance sensors (31A to 31C) detecting an object located below. A controller (51) assesses that the position of the arms (23) is unsuitable when the tire (T) is detected by at least one of the laser distance sensors (31A to 31C).
