Abstract:
A tire vulcanization device appropriately adjusts the degree of vulcanization of each portion of the side surfaces of a tire not yet vulcanized, the adjustment being performed by heating and vulcanizing the side surfaces in such a manner that the heating and vulcanization correspond to the portion.
A tire vulcanization device (1) heats and vulcanizes, within a vulcanization mold (10), a tire (90) not yet vulcanized. The vulcanization mold (10) contains the tire (90) not yet vulcanized. Platens (20, 30) make contact with the outer side-surfaces of the vulcanization mold (10) in the widthwise direction of the tire to heat the side surfaces (92) of the tire (90) not yet vulcanized. The platens (20, 30) have heat transfer surfaces (22, 32) and also have low heat conductivity members (23, 33) having lower heat conductivity than the members having the heat transfer surfaces (22, 32) thereon. The heat transfer surfaces (22, 32) make contact with the vulcanization mold (10) and transfer heat thereto. The low heat conductivity members (23, 33) are provided on the heat transfer surfaces (22, 32) so as to be arranged in the circumferential direction of the tire. The outer surfaces of the low heat conductivity members (23, 33) form portions of the heat transfer surfaces (22, 32).
