Abstract:
To provide a method and apparatus with which it is possible to prevent erroneous determination of the degree of wear of a tire, in the present invention, when determining the degree of wear of a tire from an acceleration waveform of a region including the ground contact start point and/or a region including the ground contact end point in an acceleration waveform in the tire circumferential direction that is input to the tire and detected by an acceleration sensor disposed in the tire, a determination relating to the roughness of the road surface on which the tire is run is made using the detected acceleration waveform in the tire circumferential direction, and the degree of wear of the tire is determined only if it has been determined that the road surface on which the tire is run does not have a roughness that is greater than a preset road surface roughness.
