Abstract:

A tire suitable for cars, particularly a tire high in anti-hydroplaning performance against a wet road surface and having an asymmetric tread pattern with low noise, wherein, in the tread pattern having at least two grooves in an area on the vehicle inside of a tire equator plane and at least one groove in an area on the vehicle outside of the tire equator plane when the tire is installed on the vehicle, the peripheral groove in proximity mostly to the tire equator plane among the peripheral grooves disposed in the area on the vehicle inside has a width larger 20% or more than the averaged groove width of the tire, the peripheral groove disposed on a tread end side in the area on vehicle inside has a width equal to 90 to 110% of the averaged groove width, and the peripheral width in proximity mostly to the tire equator plane in the area on the vehicle outside has a width smaller 10% or more than the averaged groove width, whereby the co-existence of the anti-hydroplaning performance and tire noise suppressing performance, which conflicted with each other, can be established at a high level.
