Provided is a tire, such as a studless tire, capable of traveling on snowy and icy roads, including icy road surfaces. Said tire uses a composite tread row composed of a plurality of tread rows that extend in the circumferential direction of the tire, and provides an excellent balance between performance on icy road surfaces, performance on dry road surfaces, and, in particular, wear resistance. In this pneumatic tire 10, the tips of notch grooves 240 terminate inside tread blocks 210. Between adjacent tread blocks 260 is formed a transverse oblique groove 270 that is inclined in the same direction as a terminating oblique groove 220, and that separates the tread blocks 260, which are adjacent to the tread blocks 210 in the width direction of the tire. In a tread surface view, the transverse oblique grooves 270 extend in the same direction that the terminating oblique grooves 220 extend. Formed in the tread blocks 210 and the tread blocks 260 is a plurality of sipes 290 that extends so as to be inclined with respect to the tire width direction, in a direction that differs to the direction in which the transverse oblique grooves 270 extend.
