Abstract:
There may be situations in which a gas chamber partitioned by a tire and a traveling road surface does not achieve a prescribed volume. There are also cases in which an unexpected gap is formed between the tire and the traveling road surface, such that a gas chamber does not itself form, and the function as a resonator is not sufficiently exhibited. In these cases, air column resonance sound cannot be sufficiently reduced.
This tire includes, in a tread footprint 11, a plurality of land portions 13 of which at least one side, in the width direction of the tire, is demarcated by means of circumferential main grooves 12 extending continuously in the circumferential direction of the tire, wherein at least one land portion 13 is provided with a resonator 16 including an auxiliary groove 14 terminating inside the land portion 13, and at least one branch groove 15 providing communication between the auxiliary groove 14 and the circumferential main grooves 12, and wherein the auxiliary groove 14 comprises only a hidden groove portion G having an opening width in the tread footprint 11 that is narrower than a groove bottom width b.
