Abstract:
Provided is a synthetic peptide tissue plug which is a bioabsorbable peptide tissue plug which can be used in large mammals, including man, with no concern about infection with viruses or the like.
A tissue plug containing a peptide which is an amphipathic peptide having 8-200 amino acid residues which are alternately-linked hydrophilic amino acids and hydrophobic amino acids, and is a self-assembling peptide which shows a β-structure in aqueous solution at physiological pH and/or in the presence of cations.
