Title:
TITANIUM ALLOY EXCELLENT IN DUCTILITY, FATIGUE STRENGTH AND RIGIDITY AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2001/092589
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A titanium alloy having a metal boride homogeneously crystallizated or/and deposited in the matrix thereof, characterized in that the matrix has an equiaxial $g(a) structure in an amount of 40 vol % or more. Such titanium alloy can be produced by subjecting it to a hot finishing working at a temperature 10 °C or more lower than its $g(b) transus temperture. This titanium alloy has a high rigidity, excellent ductility and excellent fatigue strength, which are properties required to a structural member, and can be widely used for parts of an automobile engine, structural members for an air craft, parts for a rapid transit rail car and the like.
