Abstract:
This invention provides a supported titanium catalyst component and a process for its preparation, wherein said catalyst component contains as necessary components magnesium, aluminum, halogen and titanium and is obtained by bringing (I) a magnesium-containing support obtained by previously bringing a support into contact with an organometallic compound wherein at least one hydrocarbyl group is directly bound to a metal atom of the group II or IIIA of the periodic table or a halogen-containing compound, and bringing the product into contact with a liquid magnesium compound having no reducing ability, (II) a reductive organometallic compound, and (III) a liquid titanium compound into contact with each other to react. The invention further provides a catalyst for producing ethylenic polymer containing said titanium catalyst component and a process for producing ethylenic polymer using this catalyst.
