Title:
TITANIUM MATERIAL FOR HOT ROLLING
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/018523
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A titanium material 1 for hot rolling comprising: a base material 1b comprising a pure titanium for industrial use or a titanium alloy; and a surface layer 1a formed on at least one rolled surface of the base material 1b and having a different chemical composition from the base material 1b. The surface layer 1a has a thickness of 2.0-20.0 mm and a ratio, relative to the total thickness, of no more than 40% per single surface. When the content of elements in the surface layer 1a is measured at multiple points, the relationship between an average value CAVE for the increased content from the base material 1b and the increased content C0 from the base material 1b at each measurement location fulfills |CAVE - C0| / CAVE × 100 = no more than 40%. The chemical composition of this surface layer includes 0.08%-1.0% by mass of at least one type selected from Fe, Cr, Ni, Al, and Zr, as the increased content from the base layer. Although inexpensive, this titanium material 1 for hot rolling has a desired fatigue resistance.
