Abstract:
Provided are: a titanium powder which is reduced in the hydrogen concentration, while being obtained by means of a hydrogenation-dehydrogenation method; and a method for producing this titanium powder. A titanium powder which is obtained by means of a hydrogenation-dehydrogenation method, and which is characterized in that the concentration of hydrogen contained in the titanium powder is 150 ppm or less. A method for producing a titanium powder by means of a hydrogenation-dehydrogenation method, which is characterized in that the degree of vacuum at the end of the dehydrogenation step is set to 5 × 10-2 Pa or less. The heating temperature in the dehydrogenation step may be from 450°C to 900°C (inclusive); and the heating retention time in the dehydrogenation step may be from 5 hours to 30 hours (inclusive).
