Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a toilet paper roll having a sheet of which the entire surface can be coated with water-soluble moisturizing components and/or water-soluble softening components, and a method of manufacturing the same. [Solution] A toilet paper roll, intended to disintegrate within 100 seconds or less according to JIS-P4501, has a whole surface of at least one side of a sheet constituting the toilet paper roll coated with water-soluble moisturizing components and softening components at the rate of 1 to 10 mass% with respect to the sheet. The total amount of the water-soluble moisturizing components and softening components contains 50 mass% or more of the water-soluble moisturizing components. The toilet paper roll is coated with the water-soluble moisturizing components and softening components by bringing a plurality of orifices of 0.5 to 2.0 mm in diameter into contact with at least one side of the base paper of the sheet and by discharging, from the orifices, a liquid containing the water-soluble moisturizing components before the toilet paper is wound onto the roll. The orifices are spaced at intervals of 3.2 to 10 mm in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the toilet paper is wound onto the roll.
