Abstract:
This toilet seat device to be installed on a toilet includes: a main body to be affixed on an upper face of the toilet; a toilet seat supported by the main body; and a reflective optical sensor which is provided on the toilet seat and has a light emitting unit that emits light from the surface of the toilet seat and a light receiving unit that is capable of receiving reflected light originating from the light emitting unit. Thus, the optical sensor provided on the toilet seat can appropriately detect a user of the toilet seat device. Moreover, providing the optical sensor on the toilet seat and not on the main body eliminates the need to design the toilet seat in a shape that exposes the optical sensor.
