Abstract:
This invention provides a tone wheel, which comprises a metal ring reinforcement (13)
integrally fitted into and mounted on a rotary side member (2, 4) and an annular multipolar
magnet (14) fixed to the metal ring reinforcement and, together with a magnetic
sensor (9) fixed to a stationary side member (5), constitutes a rotation detecting
magnetic encoder E. The tone wheel is characterized in that the annular multipolar
magnet is formed of a plastic magnet comprising an annular resin molded product,
produced by molding a material containing magnetic powder, which has been magnetized
with a number of S and N poles alternately along the circumferential direction,
the metal ring reinforcement comprises an engagement part which permits engagement
of a part of the resin molded product, the resin material is engaged into the engagement
part (15) by loading the resin material into a mold in which the metal ring reinforcement
has been placed, and then conducting molding, and the cured annular resin molded
product is combined into, bonded to and integrated with the metal ring reinforcement
by wedging of the engagement part.
