Abstract:
Disclosed is a toner for use in the development of an electrostatic latent image, which shows excellent anti-blocking properties under high-temperature/high-humidity conditions and an excellent low-temperature fixability and comprises a polyester resin toner binder. The toner comprises at least one amorphous polyester resin (A) and a crystalline polyester (B), wherein the polyester resin is formed in the presence of at least one titanium-containing catalyst (a) represented by the general formula (I) or (II): Ti(-X)m(-OH)n ··· (I); and O=Ti(-X)p(-OR)q ··· (II) wherein X represents a residue formed by removing H from one OH group in a (poly)alkanolamine having 2 to 12 carbon atoms; R represents H or an alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms which may contain 1 to 3 ether bonds; m is 1 to 4 and n is 0 to 3, provided that the sum total of m and n is 4; and p is 1 to 2 and q is 0 to 1, provided that the sum total of p and q is 2 (m, n, p and q independently represent an integer).
