Abstract:
Provided is a toner for the development of electrostatic images and a method for manufacturing the same, the toner having excellent printing durability in a high-temperature, high-humidity environment, and excellent transfer-amount stability on a developing roller. The toner for developing electrostatic images comprises: colored resin particles containing a binder resin, a colorant, a charge control resin, and a softener; and an external additive. The toner for developing electrostatic images is characterized in that the charge control resin is a copolymer having a composition containing a methyl methacrylate monomer unit at a content ratio of 85.0 to 99.7 mass%, a quaternary ammonium salt-containing (meth)acrylate monomer unit at a content ratio of 0.3 to 15.0 mass%, and a vinyl monomer unit other than the methyl methacrylate monomer unit and the quaternary ammonium salt-containing (meth)acrylate monomer unit at a content ratio of 0 to 14.7 mass%, wherein the charge control resin is contained in an amount of 0.2 to 4.0 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the binder resin.
