Abstract:
A toner for electrostatic-image development, characterized by comprising toner base particles obtained by subjecting fine particles comprising a binder resin, a charge control agent, and a colorant to a thermal crosslinking treatment in a suspended state to thereby round the fine particles so as to result in an average roundness of 0.930-0.980. The toner is further characterized in that the charge control agent comprises a product of the reaction of an aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acid or a salt thereof with a zirconium compound. This toner for electrostatic-image development has improved unsusceptibility to hot offset during fixing and mitigates winding on the fixing device. The toner has a satisfactory increase in charge amount and gives high-grade images having a high density and reduced in fogging even in a high-temperature high-humidity atmosphere. When the toner is a color toner, a bright color is obtained.
