Abstract:
Disclosed is a toner that possesses excellent low-temperature fixation, high-temperature offset resistance, and resistance to development and is free from toner fusing to a photoreceptor and everting of a cleaning blade. The toner contains at least a binding resin, a coloring agent, and wax. The toner is characterized in that the wax satisfies the requirements that i) the wax is a hydrocarbon oxide wax, ii) the hydroxyl value is not less than 5 mg KOH/g and not more than 150 mg KOH/g, and iii) the molecular weight distribution measured by gel permeation chromatography of tetrahydrofuran solubles is such that a main peak is present in a molecular weight range of not less than 200 and not more than 600, the content of a component having a molecular weight of not less than 700 being not more than 3% by mass.
