Title:
TONER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/027039
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention provides a toner that causes less splashing and has excellent transfer efficiency when forming a line image with lower transfer current. The toner comprises: toner particles containing a binding resin and a coloring agent; and an external additive. The toner is characterized in that: the external additive contains an external additive A having a Feret's diameter of 60 nm to 200 nm; the external additive A is made up of inorganic fine particles or organic-inorganic composite fine particles; the adherence index of the external additive A in the toner is 0.00 to 3.00; and when observing a cross-sectional post-processed image of the toner obtained by a transmission electron microscope (TEM), the following relational expressions (1) and (2) are satisfied:
60 ≤ b+c ≤ 200 (1)
0.15 ≤ b/(b+c) ≤ 0.30 (2)
Where b (nm) represents the penetration depth of a part of the external additive A that penetrates inside the toner particle from the surface of the toner particle and c (nm) represents a projection height.
