Abstract:
The present invention relates to a tool adapter which is mounted to a handle of a commercial tool in order to operate the commercial tool with a robot hand. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a robot hand grips a tool adapter mounted to a handle of a tool, and can operate the tool by controlling the gripping force of the robot hand. According to another embodiment of the present invention, a robot hand grips a tool adapter mounted to a handle of a tool, and can operate the tool by moving the tool toward a subject and controlling the force with which the tool presses the subject. The tool adapter according to the present invention is versatile and can be applied to various types of commercial tools. In addition, since the tool adapter according to the present invention does not require a mechanical/electrical interface between the tool adapter and the robot hand, a robot can replace and use the tool by itself at a remote work site.
