Abstract:
This tool chatter prevention device (10) is used in a machine tool. The tool chatter prevention device (10) is provided with a device body (11), a contact member (12), and a pressing force adjustment mechanism (13). The device body (11) is mounted on a tool support body (1), and is disposed on the outer periphery of a tool (30) which is installed in this tool support body (1). The contact member (12) is brought into contact with the tool (30) in such a way that a frictional force is created in a direction where resistance is provided against vibrations which are generated in the tool (30) in conjunction with machining. The pressing force adjustment mechanism (13) presses the contact member (12) against the tool (30), and adjusts the pressing force.
