Abstract:
An insert according to the present disclosure is provided with a base material that is composed of a cermet which contains a hard phase containing a carbonitride that contains Ti and a binder phase containing Co. The base material contains Co0.93W0.07. A cutting tool according to the present disclosure is provided with: a holder which extends from a first end toward a second end, while having a pocket on the first end side; and the above-described insert which is positioned in a pocket that is positioned in the above-described pocket.
