Abstract:
A tool holder holds a cutting tool (13) for cutting a workpiece (15) while rotating around a rotation shaft center (AX). The tool holder is provided with a grip section (20) and a cutting section (21, 41, 51, 61, 71, 91, 101, 111). The grip section is gripped by the main shaft (12) of a machine tool (11). The cutting section is integrated with the grip section and has a shape that is asymmetric with respect to the rotation shaft center. The cutting tool is attached thereto. If the side of the cutting section that protrudes furthest from the rotation shaft center when viewed from the axial direction is called the first side (35, 45, 55, 65, 85, 95, 105, 115) and the side that is on the opposite side of the rotation shaft center from the first side is called the second side (36, 46, 56, 66, 86, 96, 106, 116), the bulk density of the first side is smaller than the bulk density of the second side.
