Abstract:
A tool (1) for joining reinforcing bars has a tube body (2) having an ellipse-like cross-section
and a wedge member (4). The wedge member (4) is constructed from wedge members
(4a, 4b) that are press-fitted between reinforcement bars (5a, 5b). The positions
where the wedge members (4a, 4b) are press-fitted are separated from each other
to unite together the reinforcement bars (5a, 5b), the tube body (2), and the wedge
members (4a, 4b), all of which are in a region located between the press-fit positions.
Also, the points of action of tensile force acting on the reinforcing bars are
moved forward to the outside of the region, which increases the distance between
the points of action to reduce the amount of rotation of the tube body (2).
