Abstract:

A tool for use in separating water in an organic solvent containing water dispersed therein, characterized in that it is a cylindrical article having a membrane capable of separating water on a rising face thereof from the lower end to the upper end; and a method for separating water in an organic solvent containing water dispersed therein which comprises filtrating the organic solvent through the water separating membrane of the above tool, to thereby pass the organic solvent through the membrane with the separation of the water. The tool and the method allows the separation of water in an organic solvent, without the absorption of the objective material present in the solvent or the contamination of the material, in a short time, and independently of the specific gravity of the organic solvent.
