Title:
TOOL FOR PROVIDING AN AK TYPE TAPERED EDGE IN PLASTERBOARD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/111736
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Tool for providing an AK type tapered edge at straight plasterboard edges, the tool having a metal "Π''-shaped skeleton (1) the vertical components of which serve as guides. A metal blade (3) which is adjustably and obliquely mounted in the skeleton by means of a detachable metal component (2) and three metal screws (4). The tool embraces the edge of the plasterboard so that it is positioned between the guides and reaches the horizontal part of the skeleton (1) whereby the edges are cut by one move of the metal blade (3) along the length, width and thickness of the plasterboard, removing the coating paper and part of the plaster. In this way the cut edges of the plasterboard are shaped into AK type tapered ones.

1 The A type tapered edge shaping method for plasterboard consists of a tool with a metal "Π"- shaped skeleton (1) and is characterized by two vertical components which serve as guides. It is also characterized by a detachable metal component (2) which is adjusted by two screws (4) on the bottom part of the right guide of the metal "!T-shaped component (1) and serves to hold a metal blade (3) as the two metal screws (4) go through the detachable metal component (2) and the metal blade (3) and end up clamping at the metal "ΓΓ-shaped component (1).

It is also characterized by the fact that the metal "Π''-shaped skeleton (1) has a slot-socket in its horizontal part in order for the top part of the metal blade (3) to be inserted there and to be secured by a metal screw (4) which goes through the metal "ΓΓ-shaped skeleton (1) and the metal blade (3) from the top right part of the skeleton .

The AK type tapered edge shaping method also involves a special paper adhesive and a plasterboard paper tape along the width of the new AK type tapered edges.

2. The AK type tapered edge shaping method for plasterboard, according to Claim 1, is

characterized by the fact that it can be applied in all plasterboard thicknesses, since the method tool can be produced at various sizes.

3. The AK type tapered edge shaping method for plasterboard, according to Claims 1 and 2, can be applied in all plasterboard types: classic, fire-resistant, waterproof, soundproof etc, construction plates, which are primarily made of plaster, and other construction materials.

Description:
TOOL FOR PROVIDING AN AK TYPE TAPERED EDGE IN PLASTERBOARD

The invention refers to an AK type tapered edge shaping method, which involves a hand tool consisting of a metal skeleton equipped with a cutting blade. A special, paper adhesive packaged in liquid form. Plaster coating paper similar to that of plasterboards. In joints with AK type tapered edges shaped by plasterboard production plants, the jointing procedure is completed

by achieving a surface of high flatness and top aesthetics. In joints with cut plasterboard edges, where the tape and the jointing material necessarily protrude, the desired flatness cannot be achieved, leading to costly and multiple troweling for the purpose of relatively improving surface flatness. As the most important criterion for the assessment of the quality of works in building with plasterboards is jointing, the quality of the end surface after the above-mentioned work is often an issue that causes controversy between the constructor and the receiver of the works or between the craftsman and the customer. An advantage of this invention is that it enables shaping of the cut edges of the plasterboard to AK type tapered edges on site of the works. This means faster, easier and more correct jointing procedure with an impeccable aesthetic effect.

According to this invention, the hand tool of the method is characterized by the fact that it cuts the plasterboard edges in an easy, steady and precise way in length, width and thickness, shaping them to AK type tapered edges.

Figure 2 illustrates another aspect, the way the tool looks like from the side.

A way of using the invention is described with reference to the drawings.

The AK type tapered edge shaping method hand tool for plasterboard consists of a metal "Π"- shaped skeleton (1) and is characterized by two vertical components which serve as guides. It is also characterized by a metal component (2) which is adjusted by two screws (4) on the bottom part of the right guide of the metal "Π''-shaped component (1) and serves to hold a metal blade (3) as the two metal screws (4) go through the detachable metal component (2) and the metal blade, and they end up clamping at the metal "Π''-shaped component (1). It is also characterized by the fact that the metal "ΓΓ-shaped skeleton (1) has a slot-socket in its horizontal part in order for the top part of the metal blade (3) to be inserted there and to be secured by a metal screw (4) which goes through the metal "ΓΓ-shaped skeleton (1) and the metal blade (3) from the top right part of the skeleton. The paper adhesive of the invention, when spread on the new tapered edges, which areo longer covered by paper, protects the plaster from erosion by steadying it and prepares it for a perfect adhesion of the tape with the plasterboard paper. After the paper is adhered and the adhesive has dried, we have complete AK type tapered edges similar to those made available by plasterboard production plants.

This makes the plasterboard jointing work faster, aesthetically and practically better as well as more economical.

According to the invention, it would be desired that the hand tool of the method would have various openings between its guards, so that it can be used for all plasterboard thicknesses.
