Title:
TOOL SYSTEM THAT CAN BE COUPLED TO A LATHE DRIVE SHAFT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO1998051450
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to a tool system that can be coupled to the drive shaft of a lathe. Said system comprises a tool holding fixture (10, 100, 110, 120) which can be connected to the lathe, and a tool (40, 50, 64, 71, 90) which is (10, 100, 110, 120) stored in a polygonal recess (13) in the tool holding fixture (10, 100, 110, 120) so as to be torsion-proof yet removable. This tool has a tool shank and at least one functional section extending coaxially therefrom. The tool (40, 50, 64, 71, 90) rests axially on a centering area (14) in the polygonal recess (13), and rests radially on several identical locking elements (16). These are arranged in radial cavities (15) in the tool holding fixture, at equal angular distances and at an axial distance from the centering area (14). This enables centering of the tool (40, 50, 64, 71, 90) in the tool holding fixture (10, 100, 110, 120).
