Abstract:
A tool assembly (400) for tightening a retrightenable wedge system (200) in a slot (120) of a generator stator core (110) is presented. The tool assembly (400) includes a carriage assembly (410) and a wedge tool assembly (420) that is pivotally coupled to the carriage assembly (410). The carriage assembly (410) includes motorized drives (411) that axially moves the tool assembly (400) along the slot (120) and holds the tool assembly (400) on the slot (120) at an axial position. The wedge tool assembly (420) includes a torqueing socket (434) to tighten the retightenable wedge assembly (200) in the slot (120). The torqueing socket (434) is driven by a worm gear arrangement (431, 432).
