Abstract:
Provided is a tool in which at least the cutting edge has a lower member comprising a cemented carbide, an upper member formed closer to the surface than the lower member and comprising a sintered body, and an intermediate layer formed between the lower member and the upper member, wherein: the cemented carbide contains tungsten carbide and a binder material having Ni as the main component thereof; the proportion of the tungsten carbide is 70 volume%-90 volume% with respect to the overall cemented carbide; the proportion of the binder material is 10 volume%-30 volume% with respect to the overall cemented carbide; the sintered body contains cubic boron nitride, a binder phase having Ni as the main component thereof, and unavoidable impurities; the proportion of the cubic boron nitride is 80 volume%-95 volume% with respect to the overall sintered body; the proportion of the total of the binder phase and the unavoidable impurities is 5 volume%-20 volume% with respect to the overall sintered body; and the intermediate layer contains a phase having Ni as the main component thereof, and a phase having Ti as the main component thereof.
