Abstract:
In a toothed clutch all the teeth (4, 5, 6, 7) are provided with flat lateral surfaces. The teeth (4) of the cage (1) and the internal teeth (7) of the intermediary ring (3) are U-shaped, whereas its external teeth (6) and the teeth (5) of the head (2) have a trapezoidal configuration with the smaller base at the crest of the tooth (5). The external surfaces (8) of the teeth (9) of the intermediary ring (3) and the external surfaces (10) of the teeth (11) of the head (2), whose longitudinal axes are oriented in the planes (M-M and N-N) of symmetry, of, respectively, the intermediary ring (3) and of the head (2), are of spherical shape and are in contact with the bottom of the spaces (12, 13) between the pairs of teeth (4, 7) of, respectively, the cage (1) and the intermediate ring (3), conjugating with them, whereas the external surfaces of the other teeth (4, 6 and 5, 7) and the surfaces of the bottom of the spaces between all the teeth (4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11) have a flat surface and are perpendicular to the planes (M-M or N-N) of symmetry of, respectively, the intermediate ring (3) or of the head (2), coinciding with the longitudinal planes of symmetry of the teeth (9, 11) with the spherical external surfaces (8 and 10).
