Disclosed in the present invention are a top blown furnace having a powdery material fed from the side, and a treatment method thereof. The top blown furnace having a powdery material fed from the side comprises a cylindrical furnace body, powdery material entering furnace nozzles, a furnace top sampling rod, a top blown furnace spray gun, a belt conveying feeding port, a distributing conveying pipe, a quantitative pneumatic conveying device, a powdery material collection chamber, a powdery material collection chamber feeding port, and a furnace top cover. The powdery material entering furnace nozzles are symmetrically arranged around the furnace wall of the cylindrical furnace body and are located on the same horizontal plane; the powdery material entering furnace nozzles each forms an angle of 45 degrees with the furnace wall, and the center of each nozzle directly faces the center line of the furnace bottom. The present invention can solve the problems in a tin smelting process such as large loss caused by flying during transportation, large return amount, poor operation environment, and harm to health of operators during smelting of a powdery tin material.
