Abstract:
Provided are a top cover assembly of a battery module and a battery module. The top cover assembly comprises: a top cover plate that has a sinking portion; a first electrical connection member is disposed at a side of an inner part of the top cover plate far from the battery module; a second electrical connection member is disposed at a side of the inner part of the top cover plate far from the battery module; a first flip piece corresponds to a first output terminal, and a second flip piece corresponds to a second output terminal, wherein at least one among the first flip piece and the second flip piece is disposed in the sinking portion, and the first flip piece and the second flip piece are respectively configured to flip in response to an increase in pressure at the inner part of the battery module, such that the first flip piece and the second flip piece are capable of being respectively electrically connected to the respective corresponding first electrical connection member and second electrical connection member. When the gas pressure at the inner part of the battery module increases, a short circuit occurs between the two output terminals of the battery module by means of the flipping action of the flip pieces, thereby preventing an accident such as a fire or even an explosion caused by the battery module from occurring.
