Abstract:
A top emission organic EL element which sequentially comprises a positive electrode, a hole transport band, a light emitting layer, an electron transport band and a negative electrode in this order, and wherein: the hole transport band has a first layer that is arranged between the positive electrode and the light emitting layer, and a second layer that is arranged between the first layer and the light emitting layer; the first layer contains a first compound; the second layer contains a second compound; the film thickness d1 of the first layer satisfies formula (1); the film thickness d2 of the second layer satisfies formula (2); the hole mobility μH1 of the first compound satisfies formula (3); and the hole mobility μH
2 of the second compound satisfies formula (4).
(1): 100 nm ≤ d1 ≤ 300 nm
(2): 1 nm ≤ d2 ≤ 20 nm
(3): 1.0 × 10-4 (cm2/Vs) ≤ μH1 ≤ 1.0 × 10-1 (cm2/Vs)
